How much a website costs in Serbia in 2026

What a website costs in Serbia in 2026, why quotes for the same site can differ tenfold, what you pay every year after launch and how to compare two quotes. The ranges come from public Serbian guides, sourced at the bottom; my own prices are separate, on the pricing page.

Short answer: in Serbia in 2026, a presentation site is offered at 50 to 800 EUR, a business site with a blog at 170 to 2,500 EUR, and an online store at 300 to 1,200 EUR or more, according to the public guides listed at the bottom. The spread comes from who builds the site, whether it is a template or custom built, and what the price includes. After launch you pay for the domain, hosting and, if you want it, maintenance, from around 60 EUR a year upwards. My prices are on the pricing page.

What a website costs on the Serbian market in 2026

These are the ranges Serbian developers publish, in guides read on October 6, 2026:

Type of site Market range Source
presentation site 50 to 400 EUR Izradi Sajt, 2025
presentation or business site, freelancer 300 to 800 EUR Virtuelni horizonti, 2026
presentation or business site, studio or agency 700 to 1,500 EUR or more Virtuelni horizonti, 2026
business site or blog with a CMS 170 to 2,500 EUR Izradi Sajt, 2025
online store 300 to 1,200 EUR, integrations priced separately Izradi Sajt, 2025
complex custom project from 3,000 EUR Izradi Sajt, 2025

A CMS (content management system) is the admin area where you edit text and images yourself. The ranges overlap because every developer names the same work differently: for one a "business site" is five pages, for another twenty.

Why the ranges are so wide

Five things drive the price most:

  1. Who builds the site. A beginner, a freelancer and an agency have different costs. An agency pays for a team and project management, so the same site costs more there.
  2. Template or custom. A bought WordPress theme is quicker to adapt; a custom site is built for your content and colors, without parts you never use.
  3. Admin panel. A site only the developer edits is cheaper than one where you add news, products or projects yourself.
  4. Languages and pages. Every language is a new set of copy and URLs, and every new type of page is a new design.
  5. Links to other systems. Card payments, importing products from suppliers, SEF (Serbia's e-invoicing system) or point of sale software take the most time, because two systems have to be aligned.

What you pay every year

You pay for the build once, but a site also has yearly costs:

Cost Indicative Note
.rs domain 2,040 dinars a year, plus registrar costs indicative RNIDS fee from 2026
domain, general 10 to 50 EUR a year depends on the extension (.rs, .com) and registrar
hosting 40 to 120 EUR a year for standard shared hosting
SSL certificate free to 50 to 200 EUR a year most hosting now includes a free one
maintenance 10 to 100 EUR a month depends on what is included
paid WordPress plugins 0 to 100 EUR a year only if the site uses them

One of the guides adds up the domain, hosting and plugins to 60 to 150 EUR a year for a standard site. That is why it pays to ask what you pay after the first year, not just what the build costs.

Costs a quote often leaves out

  • Copy and photos. If you do not have them, someone has to write or shoot them. Ask whether that is in the price.
  • Changes after handover. A new price, phone number or photo: is it free, part of maintenance or billed by the hour? One guide lists technical support at 50 to 100 EUR an hour.
  • Ownership. If the domain and hosting are in the developer's name, moving to someone else can cost time and money. The domain should be yours.
  • Renewals and reminders. A domain that expires takes the site and email with it. Ask who watches the date.
  • A later redesign. When a template stops being updated, it is sometimes easier to rebuild the site than to fix it. Ask what happens to the site in two or three years.

How to compare two quotes

Two quotes for a "presentation site" can describe completely different work. Before deciding, check:

Question Why it matters
How many pages and languages does the price cover? a 3 page and a 12 page "site" are not the same job
Can you edit content yourself, and how? the admin panel is often the biggest price difference
Whose name are the domain and hosting in? it decides whether the site is really yours
What do you pay after the first year? domain, hosting, maintenance and plugins
What does maintenance include? changes, updates, backups, monitoring
Is basic SEO included? titles, descriptions and speed are set once, during the build
What is the timeline, and what moves it? copy and photos are what usually run late
Are there examples with links? a working site says more than a quote

The cheapest quote is not always the cheapest after three years. Add the build price to three years of yearly costs, then compare.

How I handle this for clients

My prices are on the pricing page: a presentation site from 100 EUR, a business site with a blog from 150 EUR, an online store from 350 to 400 EUR or more, and web applications from 300 EUR. Basic SEO is included in every site, the first year of maintenance is free, and after that it is 10 EUR a month or 100 EUR a year. Hosting is up to 30 EUR a year, the domain is paid at the registrar's price, and both are yours. How work runs from enquiry to handover is on the process page, and examples are on the projects page.

Common questions

What does the simplest site cost in Serbia?

Public Serbian guides put a presentation site at 50 to 800 EUR, depending on whether a beginner, a freelancer or an agency builds it. With me a presentation site starts at 100 EUR, with SEO setup and the first year of maintenance included.

Is the domain included in the price?

Usually not, because the domain is a yearly fee paid to a registrar. For a .rs domain, the indicative RNIDS fee from 2026 is 2,040 dinars a year, and registrars add their own costs. The domain should be registered in your name.

Why is an agency more expensive?

An agency pays for a team, an office and project management, so the same type of site costs more. One public guide from 2026 lists 300 to 800 EUR with a freelancer and 700 to 1,500 EUR or more with a studio or agency.

Is it cheaper to build in Serbia than in the EU?

The ranges in this guide are Serbian market prices; compare them with quotes from your own market. What matters as much as the number is what the price includes: ownership, yearly costs, maintenance and how you communicate. Serbia is on Central European Time, the same clock as Berlin and Vienna.
