Booking and payments
Hotel Lane
A booking system with online card payment, synchronised with the software the hotel already runs at reception.

Problem
The hotel took bookings by phone and email, and kept them in the program at reception. A guest on the website could not book — only send an enquiry and wait, often overnight. Every enquiry then had to be typed into the existing program by hand. The real risk was not the slow reply but the overlap: until a website booking was re-keyed, that room still looked free and could be sold twice.
Solution
Booking now completes on the website, card payment included, and every booking is synchronised with the program at reception. Availability is read from the same source reception works from, so a double booking cannot happen — not because something guards against it, but because there are no longer two separate lists.

Sjenica is a small town, but Hotel Lane works with guests who travel in and plan ahead. That guest wants to see a price, pick a room and pay — not send an enquiry and wait.
The work had two layers. The visible one is the website where the booking happens. The one carrying the whole thing is the synchronisation with the software the hotel already runs, because without it the site and reception keep two separate lists of the same thing. Two lists drift apart sooner or later, and with hotel rooms that means two guests arriving for the same key.
Result
Guests book and pay on their own, at any hour, without waiting for confirmation. Reception no longer re-keys bookings from the website, and selling the same room twice is gone because site and reception read the same availability.
